Today, a lot of people tune in to their television to watch the Texas Hold’em tournaments. It may seem too easy while you’re watching on television. But honestly, when you log in or go to a brick and mortar casino, it’s totally different. Don’t you just hurry out and join those high stakes tournaments because you will have to learn first the basics to the game.

Before we move one, know that there are what you call the No Limit games and the Limit Texas Hold’em games. The No Limit games are those Texas Hold’em poker games in which there are no limit to how much bet the players want to make. So this means that at any given time, one player can bet all of his or her money if he or she wants to. This isn’t good for those who have lower stacks of chips because this means that the other high-stacked players can easily boss you around by betting the number of chips you have left. If you aren’t sure about your cards, then you could lose if you go all in or you must have already lost a lot of previous bets if you fold. On the other hand, the limit games have structured betting rounds. There is a certain limit for each round with regards to the amount of money that you can bet. The various structures could be $2/4, $3/6, or $4/8 among others.

Now, let’s learn how to play the Texas Hold’em game. This game is very simple to learn. However, it is harder to master especially because you will need to learn how to read other opponents’ minds or strategies – whether they are bluffing or not. The players are given two cards then three cards are dealt in the middle face up, called the flop. There are two more cards to be dealt face up. The fourth card is called the Turn and the fifth card is called the River. However, the fourth and fifth cards aren’t shown until betting is done for that round. So the total of cards on the table plus your cards equal to seven. Out of the seven cards, you are to make the best five cards. Whoever has the best five-card hand wins the game.

When the three cards or the flop has been shown, the betting is started. If there are limits, then for example for a $2/4 structure, then this means that you are limited to betting $2 after the flop. If someone raises the limit of $2 applies. It’s up to you to call the raise or to fold if your cards aren’t looking good. The last two rounds have a limit of $4.
